Lincoln rollover accident causes injuries

Single vehicle crash on Nicholas Road

A rollover accident sent one person to hospital in Lincoln on June 10. The accident occurred on Nicholas Road near Interstate 65 during daylight hours, according to California Highway Patrol (CHP). The victim was taken to Sutter Roseville Medical Center for evaluation and treatment. The car caught fire, and authorities said the car had been burning for some time after the accident, delaying the investigation into the individual car crash. No report on the victim’s condition has been issued at this time.

extra details

The car dropped power lines while driving on the two-lane road east of Interstate 65, and 50 PG&E customers were without power at the time of this report. The company was at the scene to try to restore power, but no estimate was given of when it might return. Traffic in both directions is prohibited on Nicholas Road.

Extension failure can be fatal

A rollover accident can result in serious injuries and deaths. In 2019, 6,350 people died in car rollover accidents nationwide. Some vehicles have a greater tendency to rolling. These include SUVs, large excavators, vans and vans.

One of the risks is the lack of structural support in some vehicles which leads to crush the roof. Manufacturers take a shortcut, leading to an inefficient infrastructure, which causes the roof to collapse under the weight of the car. Federal rules require the roof to be able to withstand three times the vehicle’s weight to ensure safety. Without it, the space to survive in the event of an inversion is reduced, and upper body injuries are common as well as deaths.

Causes of one car crash

There are a variety of causes of individual vehicle accidents. Some are mediated by the driver, such as:

  • speeding: Curving too fast or driving at high speed in inclement weather can result in a single vehicle collision. Speeding at an intersection can increase the risk of hitting a pedestrian in a crosswalk or vehicle because the driver cannot stop in time.
  • Drunk Driving: Drunk driving causes many accidents. Because drunk drivers lose control of their vehicles, the risk of a single car accident increases.
  • Distracted drivingFailure to focus on the road causes many drivers to veer off their lanes and hit a phone or power pole.
  • Swerve to avoid debris: If the road maintenance is poor, debris or objects may cause the driver to swerve to avoid hitting them. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, road debris is a leading cause of individual vehicle accidents. If poor road maintenance results in an accident, the city or government agency responsible for the roads can be sued. In this case, the time required for its submission is shortened to six months. A personal injury attorney will ensure that all documents are submitted correctly and in a timely manner. If the filing time is overlooked, the case will not be heard.
  • mechanical problemsFrom faulty tires to brakes, a mechanical issue can cause one vehicle to roll over. It is important to maintain the vehicle so that it can be inspected at a later time for evidence of defects in the vehicle.
  • Hit-and-Run: Sometimes, another driver causes the accident and then run away from the scene. The injured party may not be able to describe the vehicle or if it was a fatal accident, speak for itself. In such cases, our investigators use accident reconstruction techniques to determine if another vehicle was involved.
